Recent statements and concerns raised by European leaders and representatives highlight the difference of agendas, goals and methods emerging between the Atlanticists. Taken at face value one could conclude that NATO no longer merely executes policy but rather makes it and drives it . Has NATO in fact become a Frankenstein monster? The NATO command and control mechanisms appear to be opaque, and to the general public are an enigma wrapped inside a mystery. One cannot assume that the democraticly elected leaders of the 28 nation member states exert any influence over NATO other than being the source of income and soldiers. The facts suggest that NATO commanders are devoid of a functional grasp of reality, or are being used as propaganda tools much the same as was done with General Colin Powell in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
This “Credibiliy Gap” is now becoming a new vulnerability taking the place of the 20th century “Fulda Gap”.
Speaking to reporters at a news conference on 4 March 2015 Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Anatoly Antonov described what many in Europe are now seeing as a crediblity gap.
In his briefing, Deputy Defense Minister has criticized statements by U.S. officials that in Ukraine there are thousands of Russian servicemen.
Referring to the statements of:
Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Victor Muzhenko widely reported on 29 January 2015-Ironic that the interview with the General was on a television channel owned by Petro Poroshenko-channel 5 in Kiev.
“To date, we have only the involvement of some members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Russian citizens [volunteers] that are part of illegal armed groups [Donbass militia] involved in the fighting. We are not fighting with the regular Russian Army. We have enough forces and means in order to inflict a final defeat even with illegal armed formation present.”
“How can a Chief of the Armed Forces General Muženko state that in Ukraine there are no RF Armed Forces ?” said Anatoly Antonov.
Questioning the unsubstantiated and hysterical assertions of NATO General Hodges, Victoria Nuland and other associated quislings, that there is currently 12,000 Russian troops in Ukraine the Deputy DM Antonov ponders the seemingly random figure of 12,000.
“Why say 12 k? Why not 20, not 25 thousand? Why waste time on trifles somewhere? Still, they say, no they can not say anything in response,” the Deputy DM continued -“So, who to believe? The person who is responsible for national security, military security of their country, or Mrs. Nuland, who lives in Washington? ”
The Deputy Defense Minister said that foreign military inspectors during more than 30 observation flights over the territory of Russia have not detected any unusual activity of Russian troops.
“The results of these tests indicate that our troops are engaged in a normal, routine military activities. No unusual activity of any unusual clusters or not observed neither by us nor by international inspectors,” said Anatoly Antonov.
The fact that there is a wide discrepency between fact vs fiction with regards to the situation in Ukraine has led to the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini comments that Europe is being dragged into a war with Russia.
In addition to Federica’s concern regarding statements being excreted from NATO high command the German Chancellor’s Office released a statement to Der Spiegel which said that they were alarmed by General Breedlove’s continuing pattern of propaganda calling it “dangerous”.
Without the introduction of NATO fear mongering it remains doubtful that the recent election in Eastonia (1 March) would have brought to power Taavi Roivas’ Reform Party.
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has urged the Baltic states to brace for what she described as ‘Russian aggression.’
Latvia’s Defense Minister Raimonds Vejonis has said that he believes Russia to be Latvia’s foe rather than a friend.
The Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuainia and Eastonia all have governments which are in power and stay in power by propagating fear and mass hysteria. Eager to lend support to these politicians in return for the 2% GDP contributions as well as using their countries as expansion of the global barracks,
NATO heads dont hesitate to make wild and inconsistent remarks accusing Russia of aggression, invasion, kidnappings, assasinations etc. with personal attacks launched against President Putin which borderline on pyschotic.
Consider the recent death of Boris Nemtsov, within 24 hours of his death announcement a complete campaign of demonization and sinister accusations was rolled out by western politicians in concert with mass media that was clearly intended to depict President Putin as the responsible party.
This embarrassing display of open and vulgar propaganda was made all the more remarkable because it included the manufacture and distribution of T-shirts, and posters with Nemtsov’s likeness in two different languages complete with catchy phrases, all within 24 hours. Coincidentally the election in Eastonia as well as an opposistion rally in Moscow took place on 1 March.
Boris Nemtsov was fatally shot at 11:40 p.m. Moscow time on February 27 (20:40 GMT), while crossing a bridge next to the Kremlin with Anna Duritskaya, a Ukrainian model who has returned to Ukraine after questioning.
NATO credibility is challenged by facts that go unreported behind the MSM curtain, a corporate controlled entity which has become only a fascade of what was once a free press. NATO generals and U.S. officials continue to fabricate and mislead, knowing that they have a free pass to do so. News sources, politicians, political parties, governments or others which have opinions other than theirs are routinely maligned and ignored. If it were possible to view the world under a microscope, quite possibly Nuland and her ilk would be seen as pathogenic. Exceptional in the same way as an antibiotic resistant strain of bacteria is exceptional.
